Digital Broadway - Digital Art and Moving Image
DIGITAL BROADWAY is a year long programme of the best digital art and moving image and is curated by Anna Petry and Jeanie Finlay. Contact anna@broadway.org.uk for more information about the programme and commissioned work.
With the installation of a specialised projection screen for the building’s dramatic new glass frontage, together with a screen network supported by New Technology Initiative, Broadway brings its media exhibition facilities to a new level. The curated exhibitions of digital art, new media and moving-image work will be integrated within Broadway’s core programme and aim to enrich Broadway’s public spaces with commissions from artists working with new media technologies, digital film and video with the assistance of Arts Council England funding.
Digital Broadway’s visual direction is ambitious and iconic and will fit the cultural status and history of Broadway as a cinema and media venue. Future commissions will include work that goes beyond the cinema screen, animates the building and creates links between the cinemas, moving image and digital arts.
