Control
‘Control’ is the celebrated film about the life and death, in 1980, of the Joy Division front man, Ian Curtis. Peter Hook, the bassist, described his post-punk band as the “missing link between the Beatles and Nirvana”. Certainly, the impact of Joy Division from their debut album, ‘Unknown Pleasures’, onwards was profound and expansive. A characteristic of their music was the centrality of the drums and bass to their sound but, for many, Curtis was the focus. The bleak power of his vocal delivery, best known in ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, remains instantly recognisable. This podcast was recoded live at Broadway and interview the producer and members of the cast.
Ian Rankin
Taken from the Broadway archives, this hour long interview with Ian Rankin was originally recorded in September 2003, when Ian came to the Broadway during his promotional tour for A Question of Blood. Speaking to a full house, Ian talks about Rebus and writing, and reminisces about the Shots in the Dark festivals and meeting Tarantino.

Sir Christopher Frayling
A recording of the Inaugural Rachel Low Lecture, given by Sir Christopher Frayling at this years British Silent Cinema Festival.
